It’s always a busy day at Busy Bees. We start the morning welcoming the children with a large variety of toys to choose from. Every day we have registration where children develop essential skills in personal, social and emotional development. There is time during the morning to share news and learn about everyday life and an opportunity to do some exercises and dancing to music, a particular favourite of everyone’s is the Putumayo Kids Music from Around the World where everyone can express themselves freely.

At Busy Bees we have a huge selection of toys which we carefully select daily in our planning. We aim to meet The Characteristic of Effective Learning in the prime and specific Areas of Learning and Development from the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) for every child. These areas are divided as follows:

Prime Areas

·        Personal, Social and Emotional development

·        Communication and language

·        Physical Development

Specific Areas

·        Literacy

·        Mathematics

·        Understanding the World

·      Expressive Arts and Design

Children are encouraged to participate in both adult and child led activities. Allowing children free play allows them to develop their own interests, express themselves and develop socially, whilst adult led activities develop skills essential for the big wide world in both prime and specific areas. Some favourite’s at Busy Bees include our home corner, dressing up as Superhero’s and Princesses, small world toys, the computer, water and sand play, gluing and sticking, painting, the climbing frame, ride-on’s and cooking.

There is an opportunity for children to play outside too. We have great all weather suits and more toys outside to play with such as sand, water and natural resources such as wood, sticks, shells and soil ( all great for building natural dinosaur habitats!)

The children stop during the morning to enjoy a healthy snack and a drink. The menu can be found on the notice board alongside our Activity Planning Sheet.

On Wednesday’s children can bring a packed lunch and we all sit down together in our key groups encouraging sociability and independence

We normally finish off the day with some songs or a story.

We try to incorporate as many experiences as possible for our children by taking them on outings to the library, the super market and our annual summer trip with parents to the beach, farm, zoo or a castle.

If you think Busy Bees could be right for your little one we encourage you to come and visit us and we would welcome you any time.
